Blue Elephant Cafe: The Marjorie Standish ProjectWe are excited to announce that Jessica McMahon, our resident sous chef and event producer, has decided to cook her way through the beloved cookbook Cooking Down East, by Marjorie Standish! As a way of warming our customers up as we head into the cold winter months, Jessica will be making one recipe each day from the Standish cookbook as one of the lunch specials at Blue Elephant Cafe. Starting on December 1st, we sampled Maine Corn Chowder and Baconized Cornbread (yes, BACONIZED CORNBREAD), Boothbay Harbor Crab Cakes with Lobster Sauce, and Hot Chicken Salad Casserole. We are excited to see this project unfold! Stop in and see us – the “Standish Special” will be available in limited quantities, and when its gone, its gone.
