Blue Elephant is excited to be participating in Victoria Mansion’s 24th annual “Christmas at Victoria Mansion” program from November 28 through December 31, 2008.Victoria Mansion is lavishly decorated for the holidays by professional designers, decorators, and florists, making this a festive time of year to tour the house. Visitors go through the house at their own pace, on self-guided tours using a printed program. Room stewards are available to answer questions. Guided tours are available for groups of ten or more.Widely regarded as the greatest Italian villa style residence in America, Victoria Mansion was designed by New Haven architect Henry Austin and complted in 1860. The house is located in downtown Portland, Maine, in view of the harbor below.Victoria Mansion is an outstanding example of 19th-century design, distinguished for its spectacular architecture and its stunning and remarkably preserved original interiors.
