Blue Elephant kicked off its summer at Val Halla Golf and Recreation Center. We catered an awards dinner for a group of education professionals in the Banquet Center at Val Halla. We were thrilled to see the new showroom at Rentals Unlimited on Reed Street in Portland! They have a fantastic selection of equipment to choose from, from tables and beautiful chiavari chairs to a wide variety of specialty china, flatware, glassware, linens and accessories. Visit their website for more information! We had several examples of their equipment at the recent “Ladies Night Out” event produced by the Biddeford-Saco Chamber of Commerce. It was a great night, with lots of local businesses exhibiting, and a fashion show by Saco’s Simply You, Too. Good time!

   
It was great to be back at Gorham Bike and Ski again this week, this time at their location at 693 Congress Street in Portland. We were happy to be a part of their annual “Girls and Gears” fundraiser this year, attended by over 150 women. 5% of all proceeds went to benefit the Women’s Cancer Fund of the Maine Cancer Foundation. We enjoyed being part of this event this year - thanks for having us!

Blue Elephant recently had the pleasure of providing lunch for the cast and crew of Honeytree Films’ newest production: “40 West”. A press release from SRGH calls the films a “…taut, character-driven thriller.” The film, starring Vegas legend Wayne Newton, will be released in 2011. “Moonglade”, by Mary Fremont Shoenecker in now available! The book (the third in a trilogy) is a romantic mystery set in the southern coastal towns of Maine. Blue Elephant Cafe makes an appearance early on in the book, as two of the main characters stop in for lunch. We met Mary Fremont Shoenecker in 2007 (as she herself lunched at the Blue Elephant), and we were thrilled to be featured in the book. We are excited to announce a summer launch party and author signing at Blue Elephant Cafe on July 22, 2010, from 5-8pm.
