Good time at Salt Gallery in early October! Family Crisis Center held an opening at Salt, with a show called “more than a rap sheet: the real stories of incarcerated women”, featuring texts by incarcerated women in Maine, and portraits by Salt’s Christine Heinz. We would like to say thank you to Jessica McMahon, who made this elephant for us for the cafe this fall. Jessica has been interning with the Blue Elephant since June, and is a culinary arts major at Southern Maine Community College. She has been fantastic to work with, and a welcome addition to our operation. Thanks, Jess!

Blue Elephant enjoyed spending time with friends and colleagues recently at a Business After Hours, sponsored by the Biddeford-Saco Chamber of Commerce. Blue Elephant was excited to cater for the first time at Kingsley Pines Camp in Raymond, ME. Its a fantastic location on Panther Pond, with private beach, overnight accommodations for your guests, and plenty of room to spread out and plan a fantastic wedding weekend to remember. Kelsey and Eric had a weekend’s worth of fun for their guests, complete with a private fireworks show over the lake at night! Congratulations to you! We enjoyed being part of your day.

It was an honor to cater the 2009 Maine State Golf Association Annual Member Induction, held at Val Halla Golf and Recreation Center in Cumberland. Inductees included former President, George Bush, Sr. We love to work at Val Halla, a great place for wedding receptions and other private functions. We were glad to be back at one of our exclusive sites in September: Ocean Gate Resort in Boothbay Harbor. Many congratulations to Joanna and Ryan! Blue Elephant has been busy catering a variety of special events as the summer draws to a close. The photos below are from a wedding reception at a greenhouse in Scarborough and a birthday party in Kennebunkport. The bride groom transformed the Highland Avenue Greenhouse into a magical space for their wedding. This space may be available for private rentals in 2010 - give us a call if you would like to talk about using it for your next special event. In spite of the torrential hurricane rains in late August, we had the pleasure of catering two fantastic events! Congratulations to Amanda and Joe in Windham on their wedding, and double congratulations to Niki and Sean on their upcoming arrival and on Sean’s retirement from the US Air Force!
