Blue Elephant was pleased to serve Dr. T. Colin Campbell, author of The China Study, considered by many to be the most comprehensive study of health and nutrition ever conducted. Dr. Campbell was lecturing at the University of New England, and joined a large group of attendees afterwards for a vegan lunch at the Blue Elephant. Saco Spirit is hosting “Green Is Cool” Week here in Saco, Maine! Students from Fairfield School did the artwork above, currently on display at the Blue Elephant. Check out these and other works of student art at Blue Elephant and other Main Street merchants on Saturday, April 25. Don’t miss the Green Is Cool Walk: Registration is at 10am at Most Holy Trinity Church on Main Street. The walk starts at 11:00 am at the Church, and will follow a trail ending at America’s first GREEN train station: the new Amtrak Station at Saco Island. Don’t miss this historic event! The 2009 Saco Spirit Fashion Show will be held at the People’s Choice Credit Union, and promises to be the highlight of the year.  Saco’s latest fashions from Saco Bay Classics, Simply You, Simply You Too, Heart’sDesire Consignment Boutique and Reny’s along with some of the latest hairstyles from The Long and Short of It. Cuisine will be prepared by several of our local establishments, including Blue Elephant Events & Catering. This is truly a community event.  Tickets cost $35.00 per person.
